A SOLDIERS CREED
I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the people of the United States,
and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough,
trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy,
the enemies of the United States of America
in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom
and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.

"Hooah!"
Every week there is small mention of those
Soldiers who have given their life for their
country in Iraq and Afghanistan. Less
mention is paid to those left behind,
both on the battlefield and at home.

For over 23 generations America's war dead
have been buried around the globe fighting for
our freedom and the liberties of others.
Each time a flag passes hands between an
Honor Guard and a grieving family, the naked
cost of Freedom is transacted.

These men and women are our very best.
Hero's who stand face first into the gale
and cower not. Men and women
who honor the heroism of their forefathers
and the singular history of this great nation.

May we revere them, pray for them and
keenly understand and embrace the selfless
nature of their sacrifice.

A Soldier asks little of his fellow Americans
who remain safe and, too often, unconscious of
his or her hardships and sacrifice but to be
remembered. It is our obligation to join with
them in preserving freedom and liberty
in a land we love. For our children, their children
and all future generations of Americans rely upon
those who were caretakers before them for resolve,
vigilance and faithful devotion to American Ideals.

Then will they be
properly
memorialized.

"I am a Guardian of Freedom
and the American Way of Life."

Thank You from a grateful state and country.
